This June 12-18, 2017, is Safe + Sound week, a nationwide event to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs in workplaces.
Organized by OSHA and supported by approximately 100 Event Partners, including BCSP, Safe + Sound week encourages participants to advocate for safety programs that include management leadership, worker participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards.
The Safe + Sound website has an easy-to-use guide to participation in the week’s activities, with a list of activities, tools for planning and promotion of the activities you choose to host, and recognition materials.
This event follows OSHA’s update to the agency’s Guidelines for Safety and Health Programs publication, a free-to-use set of guidelines “to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths, as well as the suffering and financial hardship these events can cause for workers, their families, and employers.”
BCSP joined the Safe + Sound campaign because we understand that workplace incidents are preventable, and safety is what is built to ensure work can be performed without harm.
Spread this message on Safe + Sound week and build safety in your workplace with OSHA’s guidelines, NIOSH’s body of knowledge, and BCSP certifications.
