Linda Tapp, ALCM, CSP, CPTD is president of SafetyFUNdamentals and has over 34 years of experience across the United States, England, Germany, and the Netherlands. She frequently presents virtually and in-person and provides consulting services on occupational safety training techniques, specializing in those that increase retention and transfer. She has published over 50 articles and authored several safety training books, including her latest, “Make Your Safety Training Stick: Improve Retention and Get Better Results,” to be published and available from the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) in June 2022. She is also a contributor to ASSP’s Safety Professional’s Handbook as well as ASSP’s Consultants Business Development Guide.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Drexel University and a Master of Science in Environmental Health from Temple University. She holds the Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) certifications. She has been awarded many different awards related to safety and entrepreneurship, including six different Safety Professional of the Year awards, with the most significant being one of ASSP’s highest honors, the Edgar Monsanto Queeny Safety Professional of the Year in 2008.
She currently serves as ASSP’s vice-president of finance, as a trustee for the ASSP Foundation, as director-at-large for the Board of Certification of Professional Ergonomists (BCPE), and locally as a director on the Board of Literacy Volunteers. She served on the BCSP Board of Directors from 2004 to 2009, including on the Executive Committee as treasurer. While on the BCSP Board, she acted as BCSP’s representative on the Council for the Certification of Health and Safety Technologists (CCHEST).
Proud mom of Devon, Gillian, and Christian, Linda currently lives with her husband Darren of 31 years and her two dogs in New Jersey.
