The Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) announces the release of a new Certified Safety Professional (CSP) blueprint, which will apply to the CSP9 examination in the second half of 2016.
BCSP commissioned a validation study of the CSP and completed it in the third quarter of 2015. The result is a function-based examination blueprint. BCSP uses validation studies to ensure the subject material in its examinations are relevant to current practice. The new blueprint may be found on BCSP’s CSP webpage. The downloadable blueprint document includes a brief description of changes including new focuses and clarified elements.
BCSP’s Examination Director, Susan Gould, CSP, ASP, OHST, CHST, STSC stated “the new blueprint will also go through statistical analysis via a beta test, a process that includes participation from new certification candidates whose support we really appreciate.” She continued, “a special invitation to participate in the beta test will be announced the first part of 2016.”
The current CSP8 examination is expected to be replaced by the new examination in the second half of 2016.
